Route of airport bus line 200E to be extended
The Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) announced that bus line 200E would incorporate an additional stop at the newest addition to Budapest Airport; Cargo City.
As of 16 January 2020, bus line 200E will have an additional stop at BUD Cargo City, and the bus’s schedule will be adjusted to the work shifts at the new logistics hub of Budapest Airport, Hvg reports.
Bus line 200E operates day and night between Terminal 2 and Nagyvárad tér metro station (the temporary terminus of metro line M3 during reconstruction). BKK tickets, multi-day travelcards or passes are required for travel.
The schedule of bus line 200E will line up with the start and end of the shifts at BUD Cargo City in order to better serve the new cargo handling centre of the airport.
As Daily News Hungary reported earlier this month, BUD Cargo City, the air cargo handling centre of Budapest Airport, has officially begun its operation. This logistics hub is operating as a gateway for air freight in Central and Eastern Europe. The facility includes a 21,200 square meter warehouse and office space and an 11,650 square meter forwarding facility, with a huge 32,000 square meter traffic hall. The opening of BUD Cargo City will increase the cargo handling capacity of Budapest Airport from 150,000 tons to 250,000 tons per year, the airport said.

Another alternative to get to Budapest Airport from the city is bus line 100E. Direct shuttle service 100E operates between the airport and Deák Ferenc square in the city centre. Be aware that passengers require a special airport shuttle bus single ticket which costs 900 HUF. Other types of tickets or passes are not accepted.
